Is there an alternative way to view thumbnails in Wayland that could be used by pipe-viewer?

This pipe-viewer with thumbnails is almost exactly what I was looking for.

Thank You!

@VidarrKerr I'm not sure what you mean, only the gui can display thumbnails.

@trizen

You could optionally consider using ueberzug so that the cli can show thumbnails I haven't used it my self, it shows images in a separate window. https://github.com/seebye/ueberzug

you can also use w3m with w3m-img (debian) to display images directly in some terminals. I use ranger, a terminal file manager with w3m for image previewing. it works fine in xterm

i forgot, a third possibility to display images, would be with mpv it self. (this is not implemented, it's just an idea)

No plans at the moment for adding support for thumbnails in the CLI version.

A good alternative is: https://github.com/pystardust/ytfzf
