Feel free to add suggestions for the journals (and article types) that we could target for the submission:

1) Royal Society Open Science 2) Perspectives on Psychological Science? 3) PlosONE 4) Collabra 5) Meta Psychology 6) Open Science Journal 7) American Journal of Social Sciences

Added some stuff. Here are some comments:

Also please let us know if there are certain journals that would be particularly valuable for you and your career trajectory. We should take into consideration what would be most valuable to folks (for non-tenured folks)

I've added two to consider that I am not very familiar with but seem to pass the 👁 test after some google searching (take that for what it's worth). I agree that it would be best to keep in consideration the early(-ier) career researchers amongst us to help guide our decisions. 👍🏼

I started reading Royal Society Open Science aims and scope and I think we won't fit there: "The journal covers the entire range of science and mathematics and allows the Society to publish all the high-quality work it receives without the usual restrictions on scope, length or impact. (...) The journal covers life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, engineering and computer science. Unfortunately, work that has a strong clinical focus, including but not limited to clinical psychology, will not be considered for publication" - looks like they focus only on a specific range of disciplines.

Collabra sounds also great, but I am not sure about targeting psychology-oriented journals. I think we should go either general (and argue about the importance of language) or target a language journal? Plos ONE sounds good! What do others think?

Strategy:

  1. Royal Society Open Science
  2. PlosONE
