Add Raspberrymatic #1699

Closed atsoller closed 1 year ago

atsoller commented 2 years ago

https://raspberrymatic.de RaspberryMatic is a free, lightweight operating system alternative for an OpenSource-based “HomeMatic CCU” under your control … using a CCU3, ELV-Charly, RaspberryPi, Tinkerboard, ODROID or by running it as a virtual appliance on vmWare ESXi, Proxmox VE, VirtualBox, Synology VMM, QNAP VS, Qemu/KVM, UNRAID, XCP-ng/XenServer, HyperV, Kubernetes/K8s, Docker/OCI or as Home Assistant Add-on The powerful CCU3 is the central element for intelligent smart home control and offers almost unlimited configuration options.

Reason: I want to get rid of my Linux VM to run that in Docker. As a lot of people are using a CCU or Raspberrymatic on a RaspberryPi or a Linux VM, I guess that will be a benefit.

A full installation instruction for Kubernetes on Debian can be found here: https://github.com/jens-maus/RaspberryMatic/wiki/Installation-Kubernetes

This is an instruction from the developer of the software.

Thanks for your request.

Not relevant at all. 80% of that is about how to install kubernetes and the rest does not contain anything we use in our development process (as we generally don't reuse existing helmcharts)

A lot of German Smart Home enthusiast will use this on Scale. Cheaper than Unraid. What‘s need to be done?

The same as all app requests: A helmcharts with our common chart and a SCALE GUI needs to be made from scratch

Sadly this won't work. According to their docs, host system needs some kernel modules installed https://github.com/jens-maus/RaspberryMatic/wiki/Installation-Docker-OCI Which I don't think iX Systems are going to include, at least not unless tons of people request them.

This could, however, be build as a native helm chart, where people have more control over their host.

EDIT: Are those modules needed for the core features?

atsoller commented 1 year ago

Thanks for checking that. As far as I know, the pivccu-modules-dkms kernel modules are needed to connect the radio modules (RPI-RF-MOD/HM-MOD-RPI-PCB). These are needed for the communication with the clients. I do not know what the eq3_char_loop is for. But as Jens Maus said it is needed, I am sure it is.
