Need to go through the mechanics of a rebuild on a supported platform.

Verified instructions work.

Gotchas:

make sure when you download the corepop precompiled binary, make it executable.
the final step of making an additional "new corepop' instead of keeping the old one is probably a good idea: make stamp_new_corepop

Not sure how the corepop version number gets set. Need to find out where it is set. Secondly, make sure it runs. Noting, size is bigger by a little bit.
