Thanks for reporting this! We do have vesa
set as a "fallback" option, so that appears to be working correctly, but we'll need to look into why the Nvidia driver isn't being suggested.
Investigation shows the detection issue was already solved (https://github.com/trueos/trueos-utils-qt5/commit/c21aa06130d37037b7fa6d21ef88e7974c8d7507) and the fix should be present in the latest UNSTABLE version.
If possible, could you update to the latest UNSTABLE version and run the "display detect/change driver" wizard again? The option is in the lower corner of the (pcdm) login screen.
I'm closing this for inactivity - please leave a comment or reopen the issue if this continues to be an issue. Thanks!
The first-boot display settings dialog suggests
vesa
when the GPU is an NVidia and the NVidia driver was selected in the optional installations screen; it should suggestnvidia
.Tested with the UNSTABLE release of 2017-08-05 and a GTX 1070.
