But there's a setting for that purpose.

trufae commented 6 years ago

I have never liked the focus on click behaviour of window managers. And its the first thing i change in all my terminals and operating systems if supported. Its a waste of time imho. Thats why i dropped this option and im aware the mousefocus have bugs. But disabling that option enforces the use of this and therefor increases the interest on fixing them. Is this really a problem in your workflow?

I used to have same habits. But since I became more focused toward keyboard usage this beacme more of annoyance than of any use.

trufae commented 6 years ago

then whats the problem? if you dont move the mouse you can use the keyboard to select any pane, window or terminal.

(obviously) The problem is I move mouse for different purpose but having this "focus follows mouse" it gets into things I didn't ask it at all.

trufae commented 6 years ago

then imho thats something to be solved in the mouse-over mode

A trouble noted: if I'm working in Therm, then switch with Cmd_Tab to, say, Slack or Chrome, input is still diverted to Therm. I need explicitly click that app window in despite focus has been switched to with Cmd_Tab already.

trufae commented 6 years ago

Cant reproduce. That only happens for me if i have the cursor on the terminal and i move it . But without touching the mouse at all the behaviour is correct for me

Same thing happens to me using 0.1.8, if I alt tab to any other application and don't move the mouse focus still stays on the terminal if the mouse is over it.

I personally just returned to Terminal at some point. iTerm2 is fancy but unstable, Therm is crippled iTerm2 with one-man-knows-better-for-all development attitude and there're quirks too. Not interested

trufae commented 6 years ago

Thats what happens when everyone complains and no one contributes (-:

Theres an issue to bring back cmd+h, standard fullscreen and nomouseover as a settings option. If u care about this send a pr instead of making a drama

When I care I do donate even. But having talked to you here I came to conclusion Terminal makes more sense still. Bye

trufae commented 6 years ago

Thats a very capitalist point of view about free software.

Having the same issue in 0.2.1. I use window managers to move windows around and if a window is moved and reveals a therm window and the mouse is now over the therm window, it steals focus. I really like a lot of the design choices in therm but this mouse focus stealing is really disrupting my workflow.
