hello, my name is abdukeram, and I'm from xinjiang china, thank you for your work at GitHub which is named "Width-Crack-With-YOLO"; Recently I have had the same needs to calculate crack width with Yolo, i looked at your Fork and used it on y own dataset and model, i got a result but I do not know what kind of method is it. can you explain this code to me if you have free time, thank you so much, if you help me I will be so grateful for that, thank you so much.

Hi abdukeram ! Thank you for contacting me. About the theory result, we implement the width crack measurement based on the definition represented in the documentation " Width of a Compact Set R^n" of Assoc.Prof Phan Than An and Nguyen Ngoc Hai, in which I attach along with my reply. You can also find some related documentations in the mainpage of IMACS, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology via link: https://imacs.hcmut.edu.vn/preprints (Publications part) For the implementation method, we are currently working and have not yet published, so without the agreement of my instructors, I can not explain more with you. The code I published in github is one of the original versions of my team's result, hence it has not yet been explained and made clear. Once again, thanks for contacting me. Have a good weekend ! Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it, thank you so much😊. Can I ask some questions? About YOLOv8 segmentation? currently, my work is:

  1. Road Pavement Crack segmentation based on YOLOv8. Then based segment picture I got a black-white picture like this.
  2. When I extract black-white pictures I use the white part as road cracks, and then I extract the skeleton(center line).
  3. After I extract the skeleton line I can calculate the crack length. Also, I used the white part to calculate the crack width and area. my question is:
  4. Do you know if my above method is correct?
  5. When I get a black-white picture can I write it like 《automatic pavement crack segmentation》or《automatic pavement crack extraction》on my essay? Or is there another good topic?
  6. if your tutor allows you, can you explain the method? and teach me how to use your code and the function of your code. I appreciate it if you taught me something. Thanks again your replying.😊
