Complication text on Pixel Watch 2 reversed

Don't know if this is PW2 only, but the trend is large while the bg is small which seems reversed from images I've seen from the G-Watch forum.

All faces I've tried are the same (except of course the G-Watch face).

With the PW2 small screen, the actual bg reading is tiny and hard to make out with slightly challenged short term vision.
