I have tried to send spoofing emails but i have some problems since 2 months and i can't resolve them. I saw a lot of issues and nobody have a solution to my problem, also i ask in the irc channel but no response is the only i got.

I have this same issue in Kali. Can someone please let me know fixed this please. I can't seem to update and use that command above as it's returning a bash error command.

You have to turn on the "Less secure app access" in your google account's security settings. That way it will accept the password.

I have the same problem, I turn on the less secure apps option but didn't work again...

You have to turn on the "Less secure app access" in your google account's security settings. That way it will accept the password.

In my case it was due to a 2FA requirement in my Linux mail server, which given this was for a class lab, I didn't mind turning it off. After I did that, then I stopped getting that message. Apparently that program can't handle 2FA currently.

I had the error previously and managed to bypass it by setting the less secure app access to on.

However, recently, my script for my school project stopped working suddenly. After some research, it seems Google is making life harder for us:

Hello, i registred in proton.me, but how can i use it, there are only two options

  1. Use a gmail Account for your email attack.
  2. Use your own server or open relay

when i try option one, and type proton mail in the end it's telling me wrong password

@Irakli91 you have to edit the /etc/setoolkit/set.config and change Gmail to proton mail.

@Irakli91 sign up at Sendinblue to create a free account, click on your username and click on SMTP AND API. select SMTP and use the details as OPEN-RELAY on setoolkit. same goes for other tools.

@KBPr0 how did you set the OPEN-RELAY on setoolkit?

update the setoolkit configuration... how ever there are other tools you can use for that

i guess you tried with gmail... use another SMTP service. try sendinblue or smtp2go sign up and you will get the smtp details to use

You have to turn on the "Less secure app access" in your google account's security settings. That way it will accept the password.

There is no such option of less secure apps

i tried your method. It showed "SET has finished sending emails but I didn't receive any emails and i also tried using the wrong email password, it also showed "set has finished sending emails"

l have same problem l change to python2 and do like he said it but l didnt get email

sign up at Sendinblue to create a free account, click on your username and click on SMTP AND API. select SMTP and use the details as OPEN-RELAY on setoolkit. same goes for other tools. if you're finding that difficult you can also clone sendemail from github and use that instead for your attack or set up gophish framework

This step worked for me. since the 'Less Secure permission" isnt working set an app password and it will work. i followed the steps below :

Sign in with App Passwords

Tip: App Passwords aren’t recommended and are unnecessary in most cases. To help keep your account secure, use "Sign in with Google" to connect apps to your Google Account.

An App Password is a 16-digit passcode that gives a less secure app or device permission to access your Google Account. App Passwords can only be used with accounts that have 2-Step Verification turned on. When to use App Passwords

Tip: iPhones and iPads with iOS 11 or up don’t require App Passwords. Instead use “Sign in with Google.”

If the app doesn’t offer “Sign in with Google,” you can either:

Use App Passwords
Switch to a more secure app or device

Create & use App Passwords

If you use 2-Step-Verification and get a "password incorrect" error when you sign in, you can try to use an App Password.

Go to your [Google Account](https://myaccount.google.com/).
Select Security.
Under "Signing in to Google," select App Passwords. You may need to sign in. If you don’t have this option, it might be because:
    2-Step Verification is not set up for your account.
    2-Step Verification is only set up for security keys.
    Your account is through work, school, or other organization.
    You turned on Advanced Protection.
At the bottom, choose Select app and choose the app you using and then Select device and choose the device you’re using and then Generate.
Follow the instructions to enter the App Password. The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.
Tap Done.

Initially , Google use to have less secure app access from which when enabled you can use that to send multiple mails but now google don't have that support , so to enable this such that to go through this attack : Step 1 : Enable 2FA in Google account Step 2: Now Go to security and you will get app password click on that Step 3 : Then You need to generate a new app password

Where did u put it mate?

I am having the same issue but I am using the "use own server/relay" option with smtp2go I set up. I did not find any enabled 2FA stuff I read about the gmail issue. Any tips?

Step 1: Go to your Google account and enable 2FA Step 2: Generate App Password - An app password is a password that is generated so that a third-party app can connect to your Gmail account. You then use it instead of your Google account password when using that app. It really is that simple. See google link to here to generate password: https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords.

Select Custom and Give any name of your choice: In my case, I will give it Setoolkit then generate a password

copy the password generated and use it in your setoolkit instead of your normal email password and you're good to go.
