For the player currently it is not really comprehendable how much damage he got. Also he do not really know if the monster attacked at all (this is when hit = 0). Of course the monster always attacks but sometimes makes no dmg.

A fight shall be as follows:
when I start a fight i shall be able to choose strike/dodge. In this case monsters pace is higher and i choose strike. Now a "animation(not really)" shall expose the combat. Buttons shall be deactivated. Text flies in saying the monster attacks and make xx dmg to me. After that I strike. Also text flies in and tells me that and how much. Then buttons re-activate and next round begun.
When I choose dodge my dodge is always executed first. It not always suceed, no, but at least the player directly sees it is performed. The pace this round determines if the dodge succeeds or not.
