Weird thing where hovering the board gives pieces in the piece list an extra column of padding #11

After placement, the first piece gets selected. Say it's 2 columns, 3 rows. Hovering the board suddenly makes that selected piece be 3 columns (an empty column on the right).

It appeared when we first changed the layout, at the end of the day at Workbench.
