Versions 4.1.2, 4.1.3 and 4.2.0 are out. Is there a plan to have new releases of this gem for them?

I think it's v4.2.0 now.

So the gem versions correspond with the CKEditor versions?

No, the EDITOR_VERSION does.

EDITOR_VERSION => CKEditor versions VERSION => gem version
