nullarbor --check doesn't see version of shovill although shovill is installed

Hi, i am trying to run nullarbor, but it fails on the first step with the following error:

ERROR: Could not determine shovill version using '--version':

when i try shovill --version, i get version 1.1.0

reinstalling shovill ends with # All requested packages already installed.
