@tillea I think we should drop snippy from Debian. It is no longer maintained and the maintainer @tseemann is not responding. See also https://github.com/tseemann/snippy/network.
The fact that software is not maintained upstream any more was never any reason to remove software from Debian. We have lots of software where Debian is the last resort in the internet where you can fetch the source code from. However, it makes things harder in case of bugs inside this software so we need to exclude software from actual releases. We just lost some packages due to gcc-12 or Python 3.11 issues in this kind of software.
snippy looks unmaintained. Even so, it is used and we want it in Debian and GNU Guix. This issue is to track patching the software for these distros.
