Marking as bot edits #42

TamilBOT got bot status in Tamil Wikisource. But, the edits are still not shown as bot edits in recent changes. Is there something in the API or elsewhere which specifically marks edits as bot edits?

What is the usual process to mark as bot edit?

Adding a category or in edit summary?

Check with other bots and update here.

Here is docs API edit, to be set the parameter to our config.ini file. Here is clearlly mention that " bot: If set, mark the edit as bot; even if you are using a bot account the edits will not be marked unless you set this flag.

@tshrinivasan you have to just add this as you done for "summary" previous issue

Fixed this.

Verify with a bot account and regular user account.

I also request all communities to operate this tool under a bot account. @jayantanth

Bot status can be requested at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Steward_requests/Bot_status if there is no local bureaucrat.

Your account doesn't have bot right yet. But still this error should not come. There are many who are uploading successfully without a bot account.
