Should we also then cite https://doi.org/10.1371/journal.pcbi.1010422 ? Could be a useful example of a method that does something similar but does use the full ARG.

Aha, thanks @a-ignatieva - I forgot that paper. Yes, let's incorporate as appropriate

I think this is an example where they are actually using the full thing, can cite as part of the bit at the end where we talk about computing likelihoods
