llvm-symbolizer: implement -x flag and strip_path_prefix #242

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

A handy improvement to llvm-symbolizer might be to implement the -x flag
similar to addr2line, so that the following syntax works:

% (echo 0xabc; echo 0xcde) | llvm-symbolizer -x a.out

Another improvement is to implement --strip_path_prefix flag
equivalent to that in sanitizers.

Correction: addr2line flag is names "-e" or "--exe"

I've added --obj flag to llvm-symbolizer in r197988. I don't like the idea of
adding a "--strip_path_prefix" flag - it doesn't look like a right thing for
general-purpose tool. Why can't we do "s/<path_prefix>//" in the user?

ok, let's see if someone asks for --strip_path_prefix (and has a reason)
Thanks!
