Background
The Salvager is the Star Explorer's solution to the wasted ship hulls floating around in space. Countless ships drift in ruin in solar systems, with countless more creating a cloud of debris in planetary asteroid belts. With a Salvager, you can start to reduce those hunks of scrap down into parts and more importantly, profit!
Fitted with a 9m^2, size adjustable Salvaging Beam, you and your crew can cut through the dense hulls of drifting ships, and secure leftover cargo and parts in your own large cargo hold.
The Salvager comfortably fits a crew of 5 over long voyages, with a number of creature comforts. Your crew can relax and watch galactic tv, exercise, or even head down to the engineering toy shop and build a new tool to help dismantle ships faster than ever!
The ship has been outfitted with numerous external storage ports, wide corridors, and a large internal cargo bay, to store months of supplies, or an abundance of loot you find on your voyages.
While the ships salvaging laser can hold its own in a fight, the ship is outfitted with protective weaponry, including a large Gatling gun on the main turret, 2x ventral beam weapons, and 2x anti-personnel Gatlings at the rear docking ports. This, along with the 3m thick, dense, hull plating, you're sure to be safe against any stray asteroids, or deranged crew members left aboard their damaged ships.
Newly featured technology of this ship includes the first of its kind, internal life signs tracking, and the data storage terminal! Track your crew or enemy boarders around the ship at any green monitor, as well as record cargo manifests, crew logs, mission reports, and more in your personal ships data terminal, located just next to the mess hall!
