This is AWESOME! and was needed!!
The flying/piloting is much more responsive now!
The default position of the cursor places it above the new deadzone meaning the spaceship will turn upwards when you get in and when you press TAB
to go to free-cam mode
Awesome changes! The deadzone is a really good size, and the ship follows your mouse perfectly. Now, I can reliably aim at another ship with fixed guns and stand a chance of hitting them rather than flailing around trying to get anywhere close : D
One thing I did notice, was that in sharper turns the rate of turn seems to fluctuate, and the ship "wobbles" even if your mouse stays still. You can see it in the clip here - https://i.imgur.com/PILpdL1.mp4 I think this might have something to do with the "stalling" mechanic that was introduced a while ago, it used to be called MV Collapse(?). This is pretty much the only thing that reduces the smoothness of aiming now that you've nailed the mouse controls.
Really good- The deadzone is a tad too small- it takes active effort for me to keep the mouse in there. Thats the only issue I noticed
I'm so happy with the new responsiveness of the controls! It feels 1000% smoother and more precise now that the dead zone is practically gone. I did some low ground clearance flying and didn't feel tense at all. This is fantastique! 😄
Now we just need throttle on the ships (and maybe a way to toggle inertia dampeners)
Oh yeah, it feels much more responsive now! Now we only need the throttle control, adjustable deadzone, and - dare I say - the option to toggle inertia dampeners on the fly, so we could glide freely like @Rexxios said? Combine all that, and you've got the flight model that can rival the best out there. Great job, Tsuna!
If I go into free look the ship consistently pitches down
Spaceship control was improved with a tighter circular deadzone instead of the larger rectangular old one. For now the size of the deadzone for mouse control is not configurable.
