[bug] Game crashes when I approach the planet #5140

Open Uncle-Ulty opened 1 year ago

Uncle-Ulty commented 1 year ago

Short Description of the issue:

Hi, Tsuna! I loved this update, the game looks gorgeous!

The game crashes when I approach the planets ...

Steps to reproduce the issue:

Set a route to a planet, and start to descend onto it.

-The GPU starts to work at 100% -FPS drops to 20~30 -At a certain altitude, the game crashes, and the GPU usage drops

I put MSI afterburner to run and check hardware performance. When the game crashed, the MSI saved the last information of the game running. Thus, I opened the task manager to check the hardware post-crash. You can compare both. As soon the game crashes, GPU goes from 100% to 1% ...

@Uncle-Ulty Hi, First do you get this 100% of the time? Then what resolution you run the game in? What kind of FPS do you usually get? => Could you retry while setting a low framerate target (in the GFX options), like 20, and tell me if it crashes? => Also another test: could you please open F3/Show Engine Data, and then record the video. I want to monitor the size of a few buffer to check if it is related to them (I need to allocate some large buffer)

Q:Hi, First do you get this 100% of the time? A: yes

Q:Then what resolution you run the game in? What kind of FPS do you usually get? A: I play on full HD, 1920x1080, 60 FPS max

Q: Could you retry while setting a low framerate target (in the GFX options), like 20, and tell me if it crashes? A: Ok, I gonna test it

Q: Also another test: could you please open F3/Show Engine Data, and then record the video. I want to monitor the size of a few buffer to check if it is related to them (I need to allocate some large buffer) A: Yes I can, but I hope the PC saves the recording after the game crashes. If it doesn't work, I gonna record the screen with my phone.

It seems it's no longer crashing... (the bugs are laughing at me...)

but I recorded anyway, in 20 fps and 60 fps. The video is big, I visited several planets and moons, so there is a lot of material to investigate.

I hope it helps you!

20 FPS https://youtu.be/huW9VVxKQDM

60 FPS (it's taking some time, youtube is processing this video into HD yet) https://youtu.be/AzKn1z5n3Ek
