[Feature Request] Full Controller Support #5284

Problem

I've been in the software development field for a handful of years. Prolonged use of a keyboard and mouse has led to physical discomfort, limiting my ability to play games without controller support. For me, controller support is an accessibility issue.

Suggestion

Since Starship Evo is in its early development phase, I'd like to suggest the addition of comprehensive controller support. Starting this implementation early on, while challenging, could prevent future complications. It would also make the game accessible to individuals like me and tap into a broader audience, including handheld device users like those with the Steam Deck and Rog Ally. In the future porting the game to the major consoles like Xbox and PlayStation will be more straightforward.

I realize that adding controller support may not be a high-priority feature, but for some of us, its absence is a make-or-break issue that affects our overall enjoyment of the game.

Hi, sorry for the late update, yes it is on the to-do list but unfortunately not very high.
