[suggestion] We need a station generation help entry in tutorial menu #6093

I'm trying to build the ring station, but I can't generate it. I put the same tags, male and female settings, the correct module type, min and max number, weight, and everything, and I can't make it spawn at all. This feature has too many settings and zero error warnings to alert us to what we are doing wrong.

To make a single docking between 2 entities we need to access and set specific configurations in 4 different HUDs...

@Uncle-Ulty Okay so looking at it 2 min I got a spawn by changing the following:

But they spawn mis-aligned, I keep you posted.

Tbh this tech is not made for random players, but for npc station builders. Every time I add a station module the logic get tweaked as I need more new stuff.

By the way I got an idea on how to work fast on the shape, could you make a mini version off the station, like a 10m large, with no modules, just to nail the proportion? I remember a builder was doing that before tackling a build. I am saying this because I am worried that the tube, while being exactly fit for purpose, wont fit visually as they would be too small. I think something more large, with those same transparent tube integrated through them somehow, would work better. I will try to give a shot on my side.

Also I forgot to add I put all dock to Universal.

Yeah. the tube is just functional atm, I plan to add some majestic curves around it to make is bulkier.

I was trying to spawn everything to work on proportions and aesthetic.

image it's kind of bugged yet..., some modules are spawning in random positions...

I believe the "merge" setting is the most important one to make everything work

@tsunamayo , I have same problems by spawning and it feels that something is wrong. https://youtu.be/iVDFYSNtyx0 I dont get any spawn after the video

I have test all before the last update and it works without problems.

6089 in this issu, you get a problem with universal docks, i must set all connector to male or female and than it works.

@Uncle-Ulty set the modul count range higher or look at the modul direction up and forward the dirction must be the same like the connector. i dont have test the new direction option in the ship menu if it don't help, you can correct the direction Position like this: 1.new starter block 2.look at the direction 3.build connector 4.copy paste your modul build

One less bug... gonna check it later

The rest of the ring is not spawning. But this is enough to check the proportions. The ring is currently 480 m in diameter. As you said, 500 m diameter seems to be perfect for a ring station.

The column is going to be improved too, don't worry.

all 4 hangars are using the same space already. The hangar's gate is circular, you can observe it in the light blue circle in the middle

@Uncle-Ulty Nice! Does your tube spawn correctly? I can't get them to align, they always comes out misaligned... I think we are gonna need to tweak the proportion a lot, I think there is too much depth, and the center might be too large. Also I dont know if having the circle is gonna work because of NPCs pathfinding, il will makes thing harder and will likely have them collider. If we can make the opening start at the level of the pad it will be easier.

@Uncle-Ulty Okay I just fixed the spawning alignment issue we had...

I fixed the alignment problem by putting both docking connectors in the same direction.

I can make the gate wide enough to reach the base of the of each landing pad. I thought with "entry direction" I could make the NPC target the center, but I forgot about the takeoff.

About the depth,I gonna remove the bigger hangar.
