Embedding jpg images into targeting file really mess up the resolution and image quality #208

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Convert FLAC files into any other format
2. Put a high resolution jpg file to be embedded into the targeting file
3.

How about the reproducibility (always, sometimes, rarely, ...)?
Always

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Version 20130720 (144.0)

Please provide any additional information below.
It used to be not like this. I don't when it started

Well, how about the "Scale large images when embedding cover art" option? If it
is checked, the image will be resized when it is larger than the specified
resolution.

It is well deactivated. This is just unbearable. who wants to get a smaller
image for their album?

As far as I've tested (FLAC -> ALAC conversion with 866 x 1024 image), the
output ALAC file has exactly the same image as the original one.

Please tell me exact steps to reproduce for further investigation.

Hello, please try "FLAC to Apple lossless", to "LAME MP3" and to "MPEG-4-AAC",
with a *.jpg file at resolution 600*540. You should be able to get one horrible
embedded image.

Could you upload the image here?

Hello I'm sorry that it was a false alarm. I didn't know that FLAC files can
also have embedded images (which are not visible under OS X). Then the default
setting is not to override the already built in image which leads to a bad
resolution.

Thanks for your attention and apologize for my bad temper in reporting this
issue.
