Metadata issue: inconsistency in box sets / auto check of cddb #225

Using 'automatically check CDDB' and preferred metadata provider freedb.
I'm getting strange results, especially with box sets where the artist, year, 
titles are all different across the same set.
What could be happening here? 

For example the following box set:
Miles Davis - Chronicle (complete prestige recordings)

Ends up with these results for the first two discs (album artist, year, album 
title, disc no.):
Miles Davis
1951
Chronicle (disc 1)
Disc:01

Miles Davis/Chronicle
Unknown Year
Disc 2
Disc:01
