Install issues with 0.8.2 #107

Error in Dynamo 0.8.2 occurring after EnergyAnalysisForDynamo install:

missing

frozen

It worked perfectly when I installed it yesterday but can't get it to work today and it has now become unusable.

Tried to uninstall / reinstall many times. When I try to reinstall I get the following message: Exception when attempting to load package Energy Analysis for Dynamo from C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Dynamo\0.8\packages\Energy Analysis for Dynamo System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.

@duzo I am investigating what causes the error. I will back to you asap.

@duzo I was not able to replicate the issue. You probably were not able to uninstall correctly that is why you got this exception when you try to install the package again. When you uninstall a package, it is pending to next Dynamo session, you should close and launch Dynamo in order to uninstall is effective.

Fist check is the Energy Analysis for Dynamo package is shown in the installed Packages manage Go to Packages > Manage Package

image

if yes, please also check whether if the "Energy Analysis for Dynamo folder exists under the local folder ! C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Roaming\Dynamo\0.8\packages

If no, try to install the package again using Package manager after removing the folder from your local directory.

Hope this helps,

@eertugrul The folder gets removed during the uninstall and I always restart Revit after uninstall.

The issue persists unfortunately.

Something is flaky: if I start with a fresh install and a blank dynamo file, things seem to be ok. I can add Energy nodes. I can also open an existing dyn file with Energy nodes.

When I restart Revit and try to re-open an existing dyn file with energy nodes then there are two possible outcomes:

energy4

Not sure it something is related to the error message I get in Dynamo when installing the EnergyAnalysisForDynamo package:

Exception when attempting to load package Energy Analysis for Dynamo from C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\Dynamo\0.8\packages\Energy Analysis for Dynamo System.ArgumentException: An item with the same key has already been added.

Thanks for looking into this.

I am seeing the same issue. Can yo update the package with the version that works for you? Is there any limitation on Dynamo version that is installed?
