When I have nvALT open and I am using other programs, occasionally I have a tan colored box that floats around in the middle saying "nv:/find/." Obviously, the note is the name of my note. It's a minor annoyance, and switching back to nv gets it to go away.

i think you're describing a tooltip. you see them in other OS X apps too, right?

This is a known bug. I've experienced it too. Notational Velocity has this issue too. tooltips floating in the foreground when nvALT is in the background.

Keep meaning to fix this, or at least try to.

Hi. Yep, it looks like a tooltip, though not one I have ever seen (in my memory) while actually using nv. Perhaps that might help narrow down the bug.

I have a couple of other "bugs" I'd like prioritized over it I think :) The note field slips to the right a lot and I have to CMD+arrow back to the left to see the left-hand margin. I think it's been reported, and I'm sure you know about it.

The second one is the preview pane. Any chance we could get it to stay scrolled into position even while making changes to a note? I could pin it, and that would work, but then the changes don't show up. It's not a big deal, but having it always scroll back to the top is a minor annoyance.

Seriously, though, all three of these bugs are insignificant, and I love the app (it's easily one of my favorites). I have to commend you for taking a great app (nv) and perfecting it. My only regret is that it doesn't sync to a sister version on the iPad :)

Can you be more specific about: "The note field slips to the right a lot and I have to CMD+arrow back to the left to see the left-hand margin. I think it's been reported, and I'm sure you know about it."

which field is the "note field"? what does slipping to the right mean? can you include a screen shot?

And what version of nvALT are you using? In the format "Version 2.2b (105)"

Hi David,

I mean that when I am editing a note, the first few characters of a line (sometimes) cannot be seen as if the edit pane has slipped underneath the left column note list. Does this make sense? I looked through the bug reports on github, and it looks like it has not been reported. I will keep an eye out for it (again, just a minor annoyance), but I realize now (thanks to your mentioning it) that I am a version behind (2.2b (101)), and I updated. Maybe that will fix the problem!

yup. I'm pretty sure i fixed that bug in the 104 release over the weekend and wanted to make sure you got it.
