Strikethrough formatting gets lost #261

I've noticed that when I hit Cmd-Y to format some text as "strikethrough", the formatting disappears after I go to a different note and reopen the initial note. This is on Mac OS X 10.9 with Simplenote syncing enabled; nvALT 2.2b (111).

There is no official support for rich text formatting, and it is not preserved across saves.

I have the same problem but also Bold and Italics are lost when switching between notes. Are you saying that these features are not supported in nvALT? Or they are not supported when syncing with Simplenote? Please clarify.

nvALT and Simplenote both use Markdown for emphasis. Neither fully support rich text.

@Mooie Simplenote is the primary cause of the loss of your formatting.

nvALT DOES support bold, italics, and strikethrus, but the support is not built with any kind of cloud or sync support in mind.

That said, the formatting is more likely to stick around if you use Dropbox for sync; Simplenote will wipe it clean.

Hmm, this is a bit sad — does anyone know if there are any alternatives to Simplenote (for iOS) that can sync with nvALT without losing formatting?
