nvalt shortcut for external editor not working #453

Hello, I'm new here and new to nvalt. I just installed nvalt version 2.2.7 (126) on MacOS Sierra 10.12.3. Shortcut cmd-shift-E does nothing. My notes are in the nvalt database. My editor is multimarkdown composer, as set in the nvalt preferences. Thanks for any help!

Store your notes as text files. You still get the speed of the database, but then there are files to open (and sync as desired).

Hello Brett,

I'm using nvalt for years. It's a great application, so first I want to say thank you for this!

I encounter the same problem like vadersan, even though I don't use a database!

Some days ago I migrated to a new Macbook. Since the app wasn't capable to change the old notes folder path to a new folder path (nothing happened here), I decided to remove the application (using clean my mac) and re-install it.

Now the CMD+Shift+E shortcut (pointing to MacDown in my case) doesn't work anymore. Other shortcuts like CMD+Shift+R still work. When opening the context menu via right clicking on a list item I can open the file in the specified external editor. I'm using no database. All files are stored as plain .md files in my notes folder.

My system specs: nvalt version 2.2.7 (126), MacOS Sierra 10.12.3

I'm having the same problem — the CMD+Shift+E shortcut moves the focus to the searchbar instead of opening in an external editor.

My system specs: nvalt version 2.2.7 (126), MacOS Sierra 10.12.4.

Thanks!
