make cursor more visible #71

I changed the color scheme to be light color text on dark background, and noticed that the mouse cursor is almost invisible. Well, the cursor (the I-beam) is very thin to start with, and dark cursor on dark background makes it really unusable. Two fixes would help -- one, make the cursor the opposite color from the background (dark cursor on light background and light cursor on dark background), and two, make the cursor thicker and bigger.

Also the blinking "cursor" (not the mouse cursor but the location of where the text would be typed) can be made more prominent. I like the style being used by IA Writer (a tall, blue bar), but anything that is either customizable or at least more visible would help.

Many thanks.

What version nvALT are you using? What OS and machine do you have? The cursor SHOULD be (about) the opposite color of the background. I've got a black background user scheme and my cursor is white. See screenshot below (since its not blinking in the screenshot, the cursor is the white bar a few spaces to the right of "Basic Tomato Sauce"): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1096590/whitecursoronblack.png

Can you include a screenshot and more info about your system?

Sorry for the delay in responding. I am using the latest 2.2b 94. On a MacBook Air, with foreground text set to white and background set to #303030, the blinking cursor is barely visible and the mouse cursor is not visible at all. See http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3526821/nvalt.png where I have marked a red oval whose center is where the cursor should be. Technically, yes, it is visible, but barely so.
