You can ask host to kick the player (see /help and /kick commands description)

I might not describe the feature request well - by "during the game" I was not
referring to the lobby, but to the gameplay itself.
Yesterday we started the game and after 20 minutes one of the players started
to have really high ping (~800-1500) and we had to disconnect and load the save
without him.
As a host I tried to type /help and /kick during the game (in chat, pressing
enter key) and it seems not to be working.
Is there any other way to do that which I missed?

Sorry for late response. I'll take this issue. So what is not working when you
type /kick 1 ? )

He means in-game, not in the lobby. Currently you can't kick once the game has
started (that could encourage sore losers to kick the guys who beat them...).
Why do you need to kick people in-game?

I would guess he referred to field spammers and other guys who play unfairly.
So that players could vote to kick them. I do agree that this should not be 1
players (host) decision though. Should be at least majority of players.

I understand the issue. Several times after playing for longer then 30 minutes
I had a situation where other players started lagging the game (ping raised to
4k every few seconds) what makes the game impossible to play.
As it comes to kicking the players as admins - I understand the cause why it
has not been introduced so far, how about making a vote instead? To pass we
would have to 80% of votes for yes.
If it's not possible or you don't think it's really necessary to have a feature
like this, just let me know. I just wanted to make a feature request as me and
few folks around would want to have. ;)
