Backport changes to eduke32, continue work there #29

This project has had very low activity. Since it's based on eduke32, why not 
attempt to backport the changes to eduke32 so the main branch will run the 
game, and continue any fixes there?

This will allow you to benefit from the constant improvements to eduke32.
