Turn off Spdif output after 5 Minutes of inactivity (Chromecast Audio)

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Turn on the Chromecast Audio
2.Play some Music, spdif output turns on (red light)
3.Stop music playback - spdif Output stays on for about 60min before turning off

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I'd like to see it turn off after a shorter, or user-defined period. This would 
allow us to turn on and off speakers/amps that can detect the status of the 
spdif output. I'd recommend a value of 5 minutes inactivity before tunring off 
spdif. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Chromecast Audio Firmware 1.17a, controlled from Android 5.1.1

Hello! I'm having the same issue (as dicussed here:

 )

I would love to see the timeout reduced to something more reasonable, it would 
save me a lot of manual switching between chromecast audio and chromecast 
video. 

Which is the reason I got a chromecast in the first place, to make home 
streaming effortless.

Hi, I have noticed this also on my Audioengine speakers. 60 mins is a long time 
for them to be sitting idle before they go into sleep and is a waste of energy. 

I would also like to see a user defined period for turning off the optical out, 
so that I could tune it to my system and listening habits.

This has already be implemented in the 1.18 Firmware release. It turns off a 
few seconds after you disconnect the app that is curently streaming.
