I left some comments above. After addressing these I will trigger a last CI job to see if anything obvious broke due to these changes.

After merging this I really want to setup an example notebook in ipynb/Examples to demonstrate how this feature can be used. This way we will also find out if the current implementation is broken with the latest MLonMCU release.
