Get rid of jeweler from ruby gems #568

I am unclear on what purpose it serves. Updating the version should be as simple as bumping the version in the gemspec, updating the build date, and maybe add your name if you want.

At the same time i suspect we should probably get rid of the Gemfile{,.lock}? Do they serve any purpose right now?

This was actually done in a couple of PRs, and in the splitting of the gems to their own repos.
