The reason, why there is no distribution-specific info in the README was already discussed in #424. There is no reason to make some distributions "special" and mess the document with stuff, that is unusable for anyone else than the users of that distribution. And distributions that are not capable/willing to package GPXSee like every other modern Linux/BSD distribution, will definitely not be handled in such a special way.
