Can you give more details ?
Length of files, available RAM ?
Output of "Debug Info"?
Occurence?
Detailed how to reproduce procedure ?

Note that 1GB RAM seems no to be enough (from other users experience).

My computer has 2 gig of ram. The files are free samples from the Bravura
Records site. The one I have is Carol of the Bells. It's an AIF file in 24/44
format. The format made made me wonder if that was the problem. The file plays
fine with Decibel. I don't have the Debug info. Would you desribe how to get
that ?

BTW I'm using 0.5.4

Debug Info is a command in the Audirvana menu.
Launch it while playing to get better status.

Damien: I was mistaken. If I play the files through my computer's internal
speaker they are fine. It must be an issue with my DAC. Do you still want
debugging info?

Sure, it'll still be interesting. With also the exact computer reference, the
USB peripherals connected, if it occurs whatever the USB port used, and if it
still occcurs when either hog mode is off, or max I/O buffer is off.

My computer is a Mac Mini Intel 2 gig RAM. Files played through Core Audio
using internal speaker. Hog mode on. Max I/O buffer. No problems at this point.

Problem returns. Same file as I mentioned initially. Same setup but using 0.5.6

Thanks, so I can close the bug.
FYI, if you get stuttering associated with CPU overload warnings, reduce the
mem allowed to the I/O buffers.
That'll help avoid mem swapping to disk.
