Dry Out USB mode (Mighty Lite MkII) bugs and features #96

Hi. Thank you for your work. Donated.

While testing dry out mode on my lite mk2 (using the computer as a pedal board), I noticed that:

(1) the diagram in the app (official and mightier) shows the fx chain going to the output, mixing with the usb output. However, this isn't the case with me. I never hear the onboard fx through the amp, and the gain and volume are entirely ineffective. This is the behavior I wanted in the first place, so no problem there except for the confusing image.

(2) That opens up the opportunity for the gain and volume knobs to control the USB input gain and USB playback volume in Dry Out mode like you'd intuitively expect an audio interface to act like. Currently, you only have the in-app gui sliders to control these important functions. It makes a lot a sense to me to have the knobs change these usb settings (instead of doing nothing in dry out mode). I hope this is possible!

Are you using the Lite only as an input and redirecting the output through another audio interface or your computer sound card? In that case, you'll only hear the sound processed with the computer software you are using. The Lite FX chain won't affect the sound.

The "Output" block on the diagram refers strictly to the speaker (or headphones) of the Mighty Lite MK2. When the amp is in "Dry Out" mode, the internal FX chain is still working and the processed signal is heard through the speaker of the Lite. If you are running some guitar processing software on your computer and its output is set to NUX Audio, you'll hear both tones through the speaker.

You're right. I was using the nux as both input and output but i must have had a bad preset or loaded or something: I wasn't hearing anything of the loaded preset when adjusting the volume and gain knobs. Testing again this morning, it's working as expected.
