Twitter API - “certificate verify failed (Twitter::Error)” #1208

Hi, had some problems early on in the tutorial. I can't actually move on with it or start over so I'm having to abandon the tutorial unfortunately. Please see my stackoverflow question below with all the information on the issues/errors I've been receiving.
