An app that lets you attack other people's phones with bees.

Just kidding! Melena and I want to make a scrollytelling / educational app that educates users about the agricultural impact bees have, and how pesticide use, monocropping, and climate change threaten bee populations.

User stories:

user story 1: I want to learn about bees and not answer any questions

• option to opt out of questions at the beginning user story 2: I want to learn about bees and answer questions
  • can answer all questions if they want user story 3: Thought wanted to ask questions / other way around
  • can choose to enable / disable question pop ups any time user story 4: Doesn't finish the story
  • have take away points at each section, so they get something at least

MVP - scrollytelling story with the below structure.

1. Impact of Bees on Us

   • the impact of bees on agriculture and our own daily lives (diet, mostly)
   • Most fruits and veggies are pollinated by animals: coffee, tea, chocolate & avocadoes
   • Rice, wheat, corn are wind pollinated

2. Who is actually doing the work?

   • Honey Bee vs Wild Bee -Honey Bee: colony, 3 types, domesticated -Wild Bee: mostly solitary, diverse, local pollinators (edited)

3. What's going wrong?

   • Pesticides
   • neonicotinoids: addictive (like nicotine!), bees can't find way home, compounding effect
   • monocropping: low diversity of plants = more pesticides, higher diversity is higher health
   • climate change: warmer temps means more pests, change of climate means more likelihood of extinction, natural schedule disrupted, plants flowering early

4. Ways can help

   • Buy organic
   • Pollinator gardens that don't have neonicitinoides (ASK)
   • Bee homes in your backyard
   • List of Orgs to support
   • General standing up for the environment (maybe input zip and get legislation for your area)

• throughout ask the reader questions about their perceptions of bees and store that data in the database.
