6 years ago Until 2014, Turkopticon was sharing one physical computer with several other UCSD subdomains. According to our system administrator, TO was using more computing resources than the next ten subdomains combined, including quote.ucsd.edu, the second-most-heavily-trafficked, which hosts the webpages of 50 professors and research groups.
In 2014, UCSD gave Turkopticon a dedicated server to eliminate the lags and downtime that users were experiencing due to our heavy load. UCSD continues to host all Turkopticon websites on this dedicated server. A detailed record of this update can be found here:

Why is UCSD the server host? Both Six Silberman and Lilly Irani created TO as part of a class project when they were students at UCSD. The two former students fully own TO, and are the site's administrators. UCSD has no other relationship with TO other than being its server host. Additional details can be found here:
It's obvious that https://turkopticon.ucsd.edu/ is hosted by University of California, San Diego, but with this new change to turkopticon.info, the question will be asked, and I'm asking it, who is continuing to host this? This is especially relevant considering the performance issues, the're obviously on separate servers.
