Pitch

I enjoy scrolling through "Federated" and see what people are thinking. This is nice because there is no filter on content type.

Focusing only on posts that have already one comment by someone else than the original poster would allow joining on-going discussions. It would be easy to implement, as Tusky has all the information in the scroll column and would primarily need to hide posts without comments.

Motivation

Seeing only posts which have one comment would allow joining on-going conversations and make mastodon more lively and interactive.

The "trending"/"explore" feature goes in this direction, but heavily biases its view to the most popular posts.

I feel like people might not appreciate their posts being presented by Tusky as a "discussion" which implies random unrelated fediverse accounts can chip in and have their say in the comments. There's also no way to differentiate between genuine discussions, and pile-ons or other harassment. Even "innocent" random comments (reply guys etc) can often be unwelcome.
