Custom notification sound/Boop as default sound #541

The user should be able to setup an own ringtone for Tusky (maybe for seperate accounts?) and the default one should be the famous boop-sound from Mastodon. This is also seen like in other apps like Ebay, where they also have their own sound for notifications. The user should also be able to set the globally defined ringtone (from the Android settings) as default ringtone (if they don't like the new default).

Heck I would be fine if it just defaulted to the boop for the time being and introduce customization later on, just anything tto differentiate it from my other notifications. 🙏

@sprite-1 since Android O users have full control over notifications and developers have almost none. Does it make sense to introduce settings only for old devices? We can ship some boop and set it as a default but where do we get it?

sprite-1 commented 6 years ago

@charlag The person who started the issue included a link to the boop sound

https://github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/blob/master/public/sounds/boop.mp3

I understand not wanting to cater to users of old versions of Android but shipping with the boop could be a small compromise imo

Ah, yes, sorry, I'm from mobile I am OK with shipping different sound @connyduck ?

Just started using Tusky and I came here to make this feature request. It would be great to be able to configure different notification sounds for different accounts.
