Stereo sound not working on speaker

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Listening to any stereo music track (random music player) using the speaker 
(this problem is not present using headphones).
2. Left channel not working, I only hear the track present on the right channel.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Both channels sounding through speaker. However, I only hear one channel.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OpenSEMC RC2. 

Please provide any additional information below.
I am not using any sound mod/equalizer. This issue is present in every AOSP/CM 
based ROM. Stock ROM doesn't have this issue. I attach a sound example of the 
same song to reproduce this issue.
