Tuya entities "Unavailable" following end of Home Assistant Cloud trial ending/not fixed by renewal #907

Describe the bug

In my HA install (running in a VM on a Synology NAS), I have had a Tuya integration working for many months (maybe a year, even). Lately, I noticed that the entities for all of my Tuya devices show on the Dashboard in yellow and say they're unavailable.

I have verified the Tuya API information, removed the integration and re-added it, attempted adding the integration again (via Devices, but just adds another instance of the Integration).

Expected behavior

I would expect that, issue of why "Yellow" and "Unavailable" are good end-user diagnostics aside, that restoring all the outside-Home-Assistant issues (Tuya plan, and Home Assistant Cloud re-ups) would cause the devices to reappear and the entities become functional again-- in short orders.

Same issue here, I guess the bug came with a new home assistant version

Update: All of the entities do appear in the Smart Life application, and are available in that app, and in Alexa and Google Home, but there is no such integration. I believe previously, the Tuya integration connected to these devices in Smart Life.

I just saw that the Tuna IOT page has changed. I remember having created an cloud app on iot.tuya.com. that disappeared. So I think tuya changed something.

I kind of remember having to choose the Smart Life app as opposed to the Tuya Smart app when I set up that connection originally, but I don't remember seeing the option when I re-set it up.

My situation now seems to be that I have to go and re-add every device by hand onto the Tuya app, which I really don't want to do. It includes a set of eight recessed flood lamps that are about 11 ft high. Fletcher Brilliant Stupid, LLC.

I am sure that I had to setup a project online on the IOT developer webpage. Following the description of the tuya integration: https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/tuya/ But that is not accessible anymore.

It took a week to get Tuya to extend my trial, which they finally did... But now:

I would happily buy bulbs that work reliably with Home Assistant... That's why I bought Tuya bulbs in the first place, and they worked reliably for the first 3 months. It doesn't seen like there's an actual reliable bulb with good open source software on the market. Is that really the case?

For what it's worth, I extended my trial, or even I think they give me a free account for a year, just pick the lowest level one for $0.00.

Other than this business with the integration knocking all of the devices offline, my Tuya bulbs have been fine for more than a year. The only issue I have with them sometimes is when the power flickers, or somebody flips the light switches on and off too quickly, and the bulbs go into setup mode. Usually, I can just turn off the light, and turn it back on and everything is fine.

Also, not a single thing I purchased was branded as Tuya, though. They were just fairly inexpensive bulbs with various Chinese non-names, but they all turned out to use the same app, which ultimately was Tuya.

It took a week to get Tuya to extend my trial, which they finally did... But now:

  • all the devices are listed in Home Assistant

  • They all lost their names, so I don't know which lightbulb is which

  • They lost their configuration data, so they don't belong to any rooms anymore

  • When I add them to a room, they stay 'unavailable'.

I would happily buy bulbs that work reliably with Home Assistant... That's why I bought Tuya bulbs in the first place, and they worked reliably for the first 3 months. It doesn't seen like there's an actual reliable bulb with good open source software on the market. Is that really the case?

Whilst re-adding the Tuya integration had no errors, when adding the Local Tuya integration, I was given a No permissions. Your subscription to cloud development plan has expired error.

This is odd because in my IOT page, ther are no API issues for that project...
