Tuya Devices no longer working. #333

Closed thisisfl0 closed 1 year ago

Describe the bug From one day to the next all my tuya devices are not working anymore. Tried updating (also downgrading) homebridge, checked my config, everything works fine in the smartlife app. Other Devices (f.e. TP LInk (Kasa App) work just fine.)

of course also tried restarting everything, including my wifi network.

Maybe a problem with my Tuya IOT Account? --> it´s tfl0@me.com

cimpimpukas commented 1 year ago

thisisfl0 same here. Made no changes to my Tuya account but it just stopped to work...

I had this same issue and just solved it today. About a month ago, all my devices on the Tuya Platform bridge stopped working in Homekit. They were still working on the Smart Life app though...

After a lot of searching, I discovered the IoT Core Services on the Tuya IoT Developer Platform had been working via a free trial and that had expired. There was an orange button to request an extension of the trial (as buying the bundle was $25K+). I asked for an extension for 6 months for my Hoobs Smart Hub, which was granted by the next morning. Then, I restarted the Bridge in HOOBs and all my devices were cached again and working in Homekit!! Took me a month to solve but everything is up and running.

FYI, You will need to repeat this process every 6 months though, the only downside.

@DavKirsch I am having this issue too. I am trying to get an extension

micahkatz commented 1 year ago

Using the pdf that @DavKirsch provided, I was able to apply for an extension. Here is what I submitted. I believe this issue can be closed.

@micahkatz You should be approved in about a day. Although, I’m not sure if the holiday will mess with their response time.

Sidenote, I never received an email telling me I was approved. I eventually went back into the developer platform and saw that it had been pushed through and that the protocol was active.

what's the use of this official plugin if you can use it for 1 month or 6 months at a time? Does anyone expects to pay $25K/year for a developper license

I have now also seen this happen, but after "View Details", there does not seem to be any way to request an extension:

Any advice on how to restore the access?

I am seriously starting to question the viability of this plugin, indeed using Tuya-based products in HomeKit. I have explored integration via Homey or Home Assistant, but it seems every avenue will require this IoT access?

mariusr22 commented 1 year ago

Hey,On IOT platform, you can request an extension and they will provide you a six months extension. After that I really don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m in those six months. I really hope I will request another extension for another six months and so on andBest,MariusSent from my iPhoneOn 2 Mar 2023, at 10:44, bjornand1 @.***> wrote: I have now also seen this happen, but after "View Details", there does not seem to be any way to request an extension:

Thanks, @mariusr22 , I just don’t see where you can ask for the extension?

mariusr22 commented 1 year ago

Sure, here it is. [image: image.png]

Hmm, I am not sure the image was attached correctly?

Thanks @DavKirsch for the solution. Worked perfectly for me.

How long after the service renewal did your devices start responding again? I noticed my Tuya devices were no longer responding yesterday so I requested an extension and I can now see that is approved. I have restarted my Homebridge service but still my Tuya devices are non responsive from HB.

The next day I stopped and restarted the Tuya bridge for HB and the devices were listed in cache and started working again.

Thanks @DavKirsch, hopefully mine will also start working again in a few days.
