gpx and kml not imported by MyTracks

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Export route from sports-tracker (gpx) or from Suunto Movescount (kml/gpx)
2.Upload to Drive or save in MyTracks/gpx MyTracks/kml (Android)
3.Open MyTracks and try to import kml/gpx files or sync with Drive

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
MyTracks imports/sync the routes successfully from either Drive and MyTracks 
folder

What version of MyTracks are you using? On what version of Android? On what
phone?
V2.0.7
Android 4.4.2
LG G2

Please provide any additional information here:
1) I tried to convert the files from gpx to kml . from kml to kml etc using 
tools like GPS Visualizer, GPSBabel, gpsites but nothing helped!

2) I took a GPX file which MyTracks successfully loads, generated a copy of it, 
opened it with Notepad++, replaced the waypoints (keeping the format). I saved 
the file and tried to use it in MyTracks - again, it didn't help.

3) I opened the files with Google earth on my PC (gpx got converted to kml), 
exported them to new kml files, upload to Drive/added to MyTracks and tried to 
open them in MyTracks - did not worked!
It is quite strange that two productes of Google which deals with the same type 
of files (kml/gpx) behave differently (and I'm saying that as a software 
engineer) with big gap - one openes the files while other one don't.
One application won't even open a file exported from the other application....

I really like to understand what is the problem and if you intend to solve it 
(to know if it is worth keeping the application or looking for something else).
