Wifi hard-blocked in dual boot installation #13

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Boot Windows
2. Lock wifi card in Vaio panel, leaving the hw switch on ON
3. Reboot, boot Ubuntu
4. card results now hard blocked (rfkill), seems to be no way to unlock
unless rebooting on win and unlocking with vaio panel

Seems like soft lock on win leaves a switch on the card it is not possibile
to toggle on ubuntu.

Hw problem? Windows problem?

Tested on Lucid Lynx, Windows 7

I know exactly what u mean. I had disabled the trackpad in the Vaio Control
Centre (because i use a usb mouse) and then windows SP1 installation Damaged my
Windows installation (a worldwied error) and now that i have switched over to
linux, the trackpad isnt detected. Similar to your WiFi.

What version of the kernel do you use? I think both of the issues should be
solved, at least I read something about it in the changelogs.
