Hi,

Tried cheese on a VPCF11C5E, with lucid 10.04 64bit, proprietary nvidia driver,
all
updates done >> works perfectly, no hang.

hi, just tried it with metacity (thougt it was a compiz problem), but just the
same.
system freezes after 3 - 10 seconds. started from terminal to get some output
there,
but this generates nothing. just a complete freeze . tried both nvidia drivers
195.36.15 and 195.36.24.

Hi elmar,
I also tried cheese on VPCF11Z1E, ubuntu 10.4 64bit, kernel 2.6.32-22-generic,
nvidia
driver: 195.36.15-0ubuntu3, cheese:2.30.1-0ubuntu1

And it works fine for me without any freezing issues

Using lsusb, the webcam id is:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 064e:2100 Suyin Corp.

The webcam is handled with module uvcvideo.ko

This is related to your specific configuration. Most linuxes work fine with
this.
