Backlight FN keys not working #31

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Press FN key + F5 or F6

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Backlight brightness is expected to changes. Instead Notify OSD in ubuntu 
recognizes that brightness keys are being pressed but there is no change in 
brightness

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Ubuntu 10.04.1

Please provide any additional information below.
The model affected is VPCS120FL. It has a room light sensor which its used to 
adjust brightness

On VPCF12E1E with UBUNTU 10.10 RC I don't have even the OSD notify
