There are a ton of commented out debug statements, but the real work is done in setting().

Hi, I will not merge this commit, as it is quite dirty ;) But I included your changes, sort of, and mentioned your contribution in the readme. Please do me a favour and test it.

The path setting is now optional; if it is defined in the settings file, it will be used; otherwise, your system default will be used.
